Pecola (Japanese: ペコラ) is a fun 3D animated TV show from Japan and Canada. It's about cube-shaped animal characters who live in a unique place called Cube Town. The show is based on a series of children's picture books by Naomi Iwata.

Meet Pecola and Cube Town

The main character is Pecola, a super curious and energetic penguin. He loves to help everyone in Cube Town. But sometimes, his helpful ideas cause a bit of a mess! Pecola is an orphan and lives with his kind grandfather, Pecolius.

Cube Town is a small, cozy village by the sea. It has cool places like an art museum, a sunny beach, a tall lighthouse, and a winding canal. It's surrounded by mountains and gets supplies and visitors by ship. Sometimes, tourists even come from a big city called Cubic City.

Who's Who: Main Characters

  • Pecola — Our main penguin hero! He brings lots of excitement to Cube Town. Even though he's a penguin, Pecola can't swim. His favorite sayings are "Flapping Flippers!" and "Let's Get Hopping!" He loves pudding and enjoys playing pranks.
  • Little Chu/Chewy — A clever mouse and Pecola's best friend. He's the grandson of Dr. Chu, a famous inventor. Chewy is also a budding inventor himself. He often joins Pecola on adventures, even if he gets a "funny feeling" in his stomach first!
  • Dr. Chu — Chewy's grandfather, the greatest inventor in Cube Town. He creates amazing gadgets that often help Pecola and Chewy. He's also good friends with Pecola's grandfather, Pecolius.
  • Coco — Another penguin friend. She's more sensible than Pecola and sometimes gets annoyed by his silly antics. Coco loves to sing, but she's not very good at it!
  • Mr. Saruyama — A monkey who runs the fruit stand and the town newspaper. Pecola often plays pranks on him, which usually ends with his melons falling over. He also cries a lot!
  • Gao/Rory — The town's dedicated lion postman. He's super determined and has never missed a day of work. He even won "postman of the year"!
  • Pug/Mr. Puggalski — A pug who owns the grocery store. People say he's the best at hide-and-seek.
  • Dr. Hornbender — An old goat who studies stars at the observatory. He dreams of discovering new planets and stars.
  • Rabi/Robbie — A shy rabbit who loves playing video games.
  • Mayor Papazoni — An elephant who is the mayor of Cube Town. He gives long, sometimes boring, speeches. He even flies his own helicopter!
  • Steam/Stim/Steamer — A cool cat who works as a train mechanic and engineer. She's building a tunnel to connect Cube Town to Cubic City.
  • Aunty Yorkshire — A kind pig who does laundry for the town. She's one of the few adults who doesn't mind Pecola's mischief.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Bernard — Two beagles who run the town bakery. Mr. Bernard often falls asleep on the job!
  • Jabatt and Bashatt — Two tortoise firemen. Even though there are never fires, they help out around town and often bump into each other, which is funny.
  • Officer Kumada — A bear who helps keep Cube Town safe with his rules and observations.
  • Mr. Lonely — A wolf who writes and recites sad poetry. He once even rapped!
  • Gazelle — A stylish gazelle who wants to be a modern artist. He's Hillary's boyfriend.
  • Srally/Hillary — A giraffe who runs the Cube Town Art Museum. She's very fashionable and cares a lot about her weight.
  • Miss Lucky — A blue cat who reports for Cube Town News. She even helped Pecola make a movie!
  • Golagola/Gola Gola — A friendly sea creature who once saved Pecola from drowning. The town was scared of him at first, but now they like him.
  • Tsunekichi/Rudy — Pecola's fox friend. His favorite sayings are "I knew that" and "I was going to say/ask that." He likes to brag and show off his toys.
  • Cori — A squirrel who runs Cori's Cafe as a chef and waitress.
  • Bongo — A strong gorilla who is kind but a bit clumsy. He often bumps into things and says "Sorry!"
  • Pecolius — Pecola's grandfather. He's an adventurous penguin who looks a bit like Indiana Jones! He understands Pecola's unique personality but reminds him to stay out of trouble.
  • Robo-Pecola — A robot version of Pecola built by Dr. Chu. He was supposed to teach Pecola manners, but his glitches often cause more trouble!
  • Alligetao/Al Agator — A mysterious alligator who takes pictures around Cube Town.
  • Power Pal — A gorilla superhero on TV who is Pecola's favorite. He looks like Bongo but wears a superhero costume. He inspired Pecola to become "Power Pecola."
