Peer is a small but lively city and municipality in Belgium. It is located in the province of Limburg, which is part of the Flemish Region.
As of January 1, 2006, about 15,810 people lived in Peer. The city covers an area of 86.95 square kilometers. This means there are about 182 people living in each square kilometer.
The municipality of Peer includes several smaller towns. These are Peer itself, Grote-Brogel, Kleine-Brogel, Wauberg, Erpekom, and Wijchmaal. Peer is also famous for its yearly blues music festival, which takes place every July.
