The Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival (Hangul: 펜타포트 락 페스티벌) is a huge music festival in South Korea. It happens every year in Incheon for three days in August. Since it started in 2006, it has become one of the biggest live music events in the country. The festival features many types of music, but it's mostly known for rock and electronic music. The name "Pentaport" comes from five main ideas: music, passion, being kind to the environment, DIY (Do It Yourself), and friendship.

Where the Festival Happens
The festival takes place at Dream Park in the southern part of Incheon Metropolitan City. This area is about 30 kilometers (18 miles) west of downtown Seoul. It used to be a landfill, similar to World Cup Park.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival changed how it was held. In August 2020, it was moved online for the first time. About 780,000 people watched it from home! It was held online again in October 2021.
Festival History
The festival actually began way back in 1999. It was called the Tri-port Rock Festival then. It was planned as a two-day event in Songdo, Incheon. Big bands like Deep Purple and Rage Against the Machine were supposed to play. But the festival was canceled that first year because of problems with planning and setting things up.
After seven years, the festival returned in 2006 with a new name: Pentaport. The city of Incheon helps organize it. Since then, the Pentaport Rock Festival has shown off many amazing musicians. These include both new and famous artists from Korea and all over the world.
