Perchas 1 is a small community, also known as a barrio, located in the town of San Sebastián, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 902 people lived here. It's a quiet place with its own unique history and local areas.

History of Perchas 1

After the Spanish–American War, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States in 1898. This was part of a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Puerto Rico then became a territory of the United States.

In 1899, the United States government counted everyone living in Puerto Rico. This count is called a census. They found that Perchas 1 and a nearby area, Perchas 2, had a total of 1,429 people living there.
