Peter Ho-sun Chan (born 28 November 1962), also known as Peter Chan, is a famous filmmaker from Hong Kong. He is known for directing many different types of movies. These include fun romantic comedies, musical dramas, and big historical films.

Peter Chan is one of the most important directors in Chinese cinema. He was the first director to win the Best Director award at three major film awards: the Hong Kong Film Awards, the Golden Horse Awards, and the China Golden Rooster Awards.

He started his film journey in the 1980s. He worked as an assistant director and producer for well-known directors like John Woo and Jackie Chan. His first movie as a director was Alan and Eric: Between Hello and Goodbye in 1991.
