The Petite rivière Manitou (which means Little Manitou River in English) is a river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into the larger Manitou River. This river is located in a wild area called Lac-Jérôme, within the Minganie Regional County Municipality in the Côte-Nord region.

This area is very wild and does not have roads for cars. The closest main road is Quebec Route 138, which runs along the north shore of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. People can only reach the Petite rivière Manitou by seaplane or by snowmobile during the winter months.

River's Journey

The Petite rivière Manitou starts from a lake that hasn't been officially named yet. This lake is found in the unorganized territory of Lac-Jérôme.

The river flows mainly south. It runs between the Sheldrake River on its east side and the main Manitou River on its west side.

From its start, the Petite rivière Manitou flows for about 55.1 kilometres (34.2 mi) (about 34 miles). During its journey, the river drops about 419 metres (1,375 ft) (about 1,375 feet) in height.

The Petite rivière Manitou eventually joins the larger Manitou River. It empties into the north shore of the Manitou River. This meeting point is about 0.55 kilometres (0.34 mi) upstream from a place called Lac du Canot. It is also about 4.9 kilometres (3.0 mi) downstream from Lake Manitou.

From where the Petite rivière Manitou joins it, the Manitou River continues for about 36.4 kilometres (22.6 mi) (about 22.6 miles). Finally, the Manitou River flows into the north shore of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.
