Pewamo is a small village located in Lyons Township, within Ionia County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It was started in 1857 as a stop along the Detroit, Grand Haven and Milwaukee Railway. The name "Pewamo" was suggested by J.C. Blanchard. He chose it to honor Chief Pewamo, a person he used to hunt with near the Grand River.
