Philip Charles Bradbourn (born August 9, 1951 – died December 19, 2014) was a British politician. He was a member of the Conservative Party. He worked as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the West Midlands area from 1999 until 2014. He received an OBE award for his public service.

About Philip Bradbourn's Early Life
Philip Bradbourn was born in Tipton in 1951. He went to Tipton Grammar School. He also studied at Wulfrun College and Worcester College. In 1972, he earned a special diploma in local government. He grew up in an area called the Black Country and lived there his whole life. In 1994, he was given an award called the OBE. This award was for his work in public service and politics.
Philip Bradbourn's Political Career
Philip Bradbourn tried to become a Member of Parliament in 1992. He stood for the Wolverhampton South East area. In 1994, he also ran for the European Parliament in County Durham. Before he was elected, he advised the Conservative group on the Wolverhampton City Council. He held many local government jobs, mostly about city planning. He was also the leader of the Conservative Party in the West Midlands region.
After Philip Bradbourn passed away, another politician named Daniel Dalton took his place.
What Happened with Smoking Rules?
In 2007, a newspaper called The Times wrote about an event in the European Parliament. This building was a non-smoking area. Philip Bradbourn was found smoking in a hallway. When someone told him he couldn't smoke inside, he said, "Elected members make the rules in Parliament, not staff."

Philip Bradbourn's Passing
Philip Bradbourn died on December 19, 2014. He was 63 years old. He passed away from bowel cancer while being treated at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield.
Ashley Fox, who was the leader of the Conservative MEPs, said Philip Bradbourn was a "one-off." He added that Philip was "a much loved character." He could always be counted on to speak strongly and clearly about political ideas. Fox also said that Philip's direct way of doing politics made him a powerful voice for the West Midlands. He was also a strong protector of British taxpayers' money in Brussels and Strasbourg.
Philip Bradbourn's funeral and cremation took place on January 16, 2015. It was held at Bushbury crematorium in Wolverhampton.
