Philip Martin Brown (born 9 July 1956) is an English actor. He is well-known for playing English teacher Grantly Budgen in the popular BBC One TV show Waterloo Road. He was on the show from 2006 to 2013.
Philip also appeared in the TV soap opera Coronation Street in 2015. He played a therapist for the character Steve McDonald. Before that, he was in Coronation Street in 2005 as D.I. Pinnock. In 2021, he joined the medical drama Doctors as Marvin Bulis. He had played other characters in Doctors before this.

About Philip's Life
Philip went to Barrow-in-Furness Grammar School for Boys. His favorite subject there was English. He was asked to leave the school at the end of his fifth year. He later said he was a "dreadful troublemaker" back then.
Philip lives in Paddock Wood, Kent, with his wife, Pip Brown. They have two children together.
Awards and Health Journey
In 2010, Philip was nominated for the Best Actor award at the TV Choice Awards. He actually won this award three years in a row!
Philip used to have epilepsy. He had to stop acting on stage for a while. This was until he had brain surgery. The surgery helped him, and he has been free of seizures for 22 years now.
He was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 19 years old. Today, he is an ambassador for the charity Young Epilepsy. He helps support others who have epilepsy.
