Phoebe Robinson (born September 28, 1984) is an American comedian, a writer whose books have been on the New York Times best-seller list, and an actress. She lives in New York City.

Early Life and Education

Phoebe Robinson grew up in Ohio, in the towns of Bedford Heights and Solon. She went to high school at Gilmour Academy. Her brother, Phil Robinson, is a politician who works in the Ohio House of Representatives. In 2002, Phoebe went to college at Pratt Institute in New York City. There, she studied how to write scripts for movies and TV shows.

Phoebe Robinson has worked as a writer for TV shows like MTV's Girl Code. She also helped with the third season of Broad City.

She has appeared on many TV shows. These include Last Comic Standing and the Today show on NBC. She has also been on Late Night with Seth Meyers and Last Call with Carson Daly. On Comedy Central, she appeared on Broad City, @midnight, and The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore. She was also on Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell on FX and Big Morning Buzz Live on VH1. Many magazines and festivals have called her a comedian to watch. These include Vulture, Essence, Esquire, Flavorwire, Brooklyn Magazine, and SF Sketchfest.

Podcasts and Books

Phoebe started her own podcast called Sooo Many White Guys on July 12, 2016. She created this podcast because she noticed that many comedians were white men. Her podcast features women, people of color, and people from the LGBTQ community. Ilana Glazer, who is known from Broad City, helps produce the show.

Phoebe has also written several books. Her first book, You Can't Touch My Hair (And Other Things I Still Have to Explain), came out on October 4, 2016. Her second book, Everything's Trash, But It's Okay, was released on October 16, 2018. Her third book, Please Don't Sit on My Bed in Your Outside Clothes, was published on September 28, 2021.

Acting and Production Work

In 2018, Phoebe had a role in the comedy movie Ibiza. In August 2019, it was announced that she would star in and produce an interview show for Comedy Central. This show was the first project from her own company, called Tiny Reparations.

In July 2022, Phoebe's TV show Everything's Trash started on the channel Freeform. In the show, Phoebe plays a podcast host named Phoebe. She is trying to figure out adulthood while her older brother (Jordan Carlos) runs for a political office. Recently, she signed a special deal with Sony Pictures Television to create more projects.
