Picacho (pronounced pee-KAH-cho) is a small community in Pinal County, Arizona, in the United States. It's called a census-designated place because it's a recognized area for counting people, even though it doesn't have its own city government. In 2020, about 250 people lived there.

Picacho is located near Interstate 10, a major highway. It's about 4.5 miles (7 km) southeast of Eloy and 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Picacho Peak State Park. The name Picacho comes from the Spanish word for "peak," which makes sense because it's close to the Picacho Mountains. Picacho has had a post office since 1881.

By late 2012, some parts of Picacho were taken for the expansion of Interstate 10. This happened under a law called eminent domain, which allows the government to buy private land for public use.

Who Lives in Picacho?

In 2010, Picacho had 471 people. By 2020, the population was 250. This means fewer people live there now.
