He played for the BC Lions and the Edmonton Eskimos. Before that, he played college football at Jackson State University. College Football Career
Picasso Nelson played college football for the Jackson State Tigers. He was on their team from 1992 to 1995. In 1995, he was named the best defensive player in the Southwest Athletic Conference. That year, he caught eight interceptions, which is a great achievement. He was also chosen to play in special games like the Senior Bowl and the Hula Bowl. In 2009, he was honored by being added to the Jackson State University Sports Hall of Fame.

CFL Teams
In March 1998, Nelson joined the Toronto Argonauts. He was released by them on June 27, 1998. Later that year, on August 24, 1998, he signed with the BC Lions. He played in ten games for the Lions during the 1998 season. He played one more game in the 1999 season before being released on August 1, 1999. On September 10, 1999, Nelson signed with the Edmonton Eskimos. He was released by the Eskimos in February 2000.

After his playing career, Picasso Nelson became a coach. He worked as an assistant coach. He coached for the Jones County Junior College Bobcats.
