Piedmont is a small community in Clallam County, Washington, United States. It is called an "unincorporated community" because it does not have its own local government. Instead, it is managed by the county.
Piedmont is located right on the edge of Lake Crescent. This lake is found in the northwestern part of the famous Olympic National Park.
History of Piedmont
The area where Piedmont is located was first settled around the year 1883. A person named John Smith was one of the early settlers.
The name "Piedmont" was given to the community in 1893 by William Dawson. He chose this name because "Piedmont" means "foot of the mountain." This perfectly describes the community's location at the base of a mountain.
