Pierre Samuel "Pete" du Pont IV (born January 22, 1935) is an American lawyer and politician. He was born in Rockland, near Wilmington, in New Castle County, Delaware. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Pete du Pont served as a U.S. Representative for Delaware from 1971 to 1977. After that, he became the 68th Governor of Delaware, serving from 1977 to 1985.
