Pilgrim is a very small community in Benzie County, Michigan. It is not a city or a village with its own local government. Instead, it is known as an "unincorporated community."

Pilgrim is also a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means the U.S. government has drawn special borders around it. These borders are used only for counting how many people live there during a census. In 2020, only 44 people lived in Pilgrim. This makes it one of the smallest CDPs in Michigan. Pilgrim is located within Crystal Lake Township.

Where is Pilgrim?

Pilgrim is found in Crystal Lake Township. This is in the western part of Benzie County. It sits in a beautiful area between two large bodies of water. To its west, you will find the huge Lake Michigan. To its east, there is the clear Crystal Lake.

A main road called M-22 runs through the middle of Pilgrim. This road is also known as Pilgrim Highway. If you drive south on M-22 for about 2 miles (3.2 km), you will reach the city of Frankfort. Just north of Pilgrim is the Betsie Dunes Nature Preserve, a protected natural area.

Because Pilgrim is an unincorporated community, it is managed by Crystal Lake Township. People living in Pilgrim use the 49635 ZIP Code, which is the same as Frankfort. The entire area of Pilgrim is land, covering about 0.9 square kilometers (0.35 square miles).
