Exploring Pindi Pindi's Geography

Pindi Pindi is surrounded by two creeks. Blackrock Creek is to the south and east. It flows into the Coral Sea. Catherine Creek is to the north and west. It joins Blackrock Creek at the easternmost part of Pindi Pindi.

Most of the land here is flat. It is mainly used for growing sugar cane. There are also a few small hills.

The main road, the Bruce Highway, passes through Pindi Pindi. It runs from the south-east to the north-west. The North Coast railway line runs right next to the highway.

Farmers use special private tram lines to move sugar cane. These lines take the cane to the sugar mill.

The main part of Pindi Pindi is in the south-east. It is very close to the nearby town of Calen. Here you can find the school, the old brickworks, and some houses. These buildings are near the old Pindi Pindi railway station.

Another small group of houses is in the north-west. This area is called Wagoora. It is located near the old Wagoora railway station.

The Pindi Pindi Post Office opened around 1935. It closed its doors in 1981.

Wagoora State School opened on August 22, 1949. This school closed in 1963. It was located at 5 Foxs Road.
