Over time, the town grew and improved. On April 6, 1906, the people of Pittsboro voted to officially make it an incorporated town. This meant it could have its own local government. After this, many new services came to Pittsboro. They built sidewalks, installed street lights, and started water service for everyone.

There, Bridget thanked her fans for their support. Hundreds of people lined Main Street with signs and banners to cheer her on.
In 2009, Pittsboro celebrated its 175th birthday! The celebration lasted for three days, from June 26 to 28. There was a special museum set up to show the town's history. Historic signs were placed on many buildings. The celebration also included fun activities, music, a parade, and fireworks.
