How Planet Sub Started
The very first Yello Sub sandwich shop opened in Lawrence, Kansas in 1979. This was the start of what became Planet Sub. The first Planet Sub franchise store opened later in 1998. This store was in Overland Park, Kansas.
The company has always kept its original ideas. They still use fresh sliced meats, vegetables, and cheeses. They also make their sauces and bread from scratch. Over the years, they have added many new choices to their menu. Now, they have more than 45 different kinds of sandwiches.
