Pleasant Garden was first settled a long time ago, in 1786. It started out as a business area. People knew it by the name "Pleasant Garden" as early as 1876.
The town officially became an "incorporated" town in 1997. This means it got its own local government and could make its own rules. Before that, it was part of a larger area called Fentress Township.

Pleasant Garden is in a good spot in North Carolina. It's just south of a bigger city called Greensboro. To its west, you'll find Forest Oaks, and to its north is Climax.
The town is surrounded by important roads. U.S. Route 421 is on both its east and west sides. Old U.S. Highway 220, also known as Randleman Road, is also nearby. To the north, you'll find Interstate 85.
