Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf (Chinese: 喜羊羊与灰太狼; literally "Pleasant Goat and Big Grey Wolf") is a super popular Chinese cartoon series! It was created by Huang Weiming and made by Creative Power Entertaining Co., Ltd.. The show is all about a group of goats who live happily on the Green Green Grassland. But there's a problem: a clumsy wolf named Wolffy always tries to catch and eat them!

This cartoon became a huge hit with Chinese kids after it first aired in 2005. Because it was so popular, the creators even made movies! The first movie in 2009 earned a lot of money. The show is shown on over 40 TV stations in China, and also in places like Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, and South Korea. In 2010, Disney even got the rights to show it on their channels for a while.

Toon Express Group owns the rights to all the characters. Later, a Chinese company called Alpha Animation bought both Toon Express Group and Creative Power Entertaining.

The World of Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf

The story of Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf takes place in a fantasy world. Long ago, in the year 3010 of the Goat Calendar, the goat ancestor, Ruan Mianmian, came to Green Green Grassland to escape from wolves. The goats built a strong iron gate around their village, calling it 'Goat Village'.

Wolves kept trying to get in. One day, a wolf ancestor named Wu Dalang managed to squeeze through the bars after exercising a lot. But he accidentally ate a big rock covered in wool, thinking it was a sheep, and that was the end of him! After this, the wolves learned not to make the Green Green Grassland goats angry.

Life on Green Green Grassland

Many years later, in the year 3513, Wu Dalang's descendant, Wolffy, moved to the area. He came with his wife, Wolnie, hoping to catch the goats. Old tales said these goats were the best and tastiest!

The goats live happily in their village. The main goat characters are school-aged kids who learn from Slowy, the wise village elder.

Wolffy and Wolnie live in a castle far from the village. They are always trying to catch the goats for dinner. But these goats are very smart and use cool technology!

Every time Wolffy shows up, he has a new plan to trap the goats. But a clever young goat named Weslie always finds a way to stop him. Thanks to Weslie and his friends, Wolffy never catches any goats. At the end of each episode, Wolffy always shouts his famous line: "Darn goats! I will definitely come back again!"

Wolffy's Family Life

Wolffy never gives up, even though he always fails. While he tries to be mean to the goats, he is actually a kind and a bit shy husband to Wolnie. He is also a great dad to their son, Wilie.

Wolnie is often impatient and makes Wolffy do all the work. She rarely tries to catch the goats herself, and when she does, she also fails! She often yells at Wolffy and hits him with her frying pan when his plans don't work. Wolnie loves fashion and acts like a modern adult, though sometimes her ideas are a bit childish. Even with all the hitting, she truly loves her husband deep down.

Wolffy always creates complex plans and traps to catch the goats, but he rarely succeeds. The goats, especially Weslie, always outsmart him. Because he can't catch goats, his "wolf identity" (like a social security card for wolves) has been taken away many times!
