Plopp facts for kids
Plopp is a yummy chocolate bar made by a Swedish company called Cloetta. It's a lot like another Cloetta candy called Center. Both have creamy milk chocolate on the outside and a soft caramel filling inside. But Plopp has its own special taste and texture! Most Plopp bars are sold in Sweden.
The Sweet History of Plopp
Plopp first came out in 1949 as a small chocolate bar. Over the years, it grew bigger and came in different shapes!
- In 1974, a larger Plopp bar was introduced.
- In 1992, they made a "stick" version, which was easy to hold.
- In 1995, Plopp came out as a "roll" with individual pieces, perfect for sharing.
New Flavors Over the Years
Plopp also started making different flavors!
- Plopp Lakrits, which is liquorice flavored, first came out in Sweden in the early 1980s. Then, in 1999, to celebrate Plopp's 50th birthday, it became available all around the world!
- In 2004, Plopp Currant was released.
- Plopp Caffe Latte came out in 2006, tasting like coffee with milk.
- In 2008, they introduced Plopp Tutti Frutti, which means "all fruits."
- Plopp Saltlakrits, a salty liquorice flavor, was released in 2009.
Also in 2009, the Plopp candy bar got a fresh new look!
