Pocatalico is a small place in West Virginia, United States. It's not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it's called an unincorporated community. You can find Pocatalico in Kanawha County. It's located right next to Interstate 77, south of a place called Sissonville.
History
Pocatalico has a long history. A post office opened here way back in 1828. It helped people send and receive mail for over a hundred years. The post office closed in 1934. The community got its name from the nearby Pocatalico River. In a Native American language, "Pocatalico" means "river of the fat doe."
