The Abrolhos bearded dragon (scientific name: Pogona minor minima) is a special type of lizard. It's also known as the Abrolhos dwarf bearded dragon because it's smaller than its relatives. You can only find this unique lizard on a few islands in a place called Houtman Abrolhos, off the coast of Western Australia.

This particular dragon is closely related to other bearded dragons that live in Western Australia.
Where Does the Abrolhos Dragon Live?
This special dragon lives only on certain islands in the Houtman Abrolhos group. These islands are about 80 kilometers (about 50 miles) away from the mainland of Australia. Its home is restricted to just three islands in the Wallabi Group:

How Big is This Dragon?
The Abrolhos bearded dragon is smaller than its close relatives found on the mainland. It can grow to be about 360 millimeters (about 14 inches) long from its snout to the tip of its tail. Its body, from snout to vent (the opening where waste leaves the body), is about 115 millimeters (about 4.5 inches) long.
