Point South, South Carolina facts for kids
Point South is a small, undeveloped community located in Jasper County, South Carolina, United States. It's found near the borders of Beaufort and Hampton counties, right in the middle of a region known as the Lowcountry. This area is important because it sits at the busy meeting point of two major roads: Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 17. In the 1960s and 1970s, a company called Sea Pines helped develop Point South to attract visitors heading to the popular Hilton Head Island area.
What is Point South?
Point South is a key stopping point along Interstate 95 for many drivers. If people are traveling to cities like Beaufort or Charleston, they often leave the interstate here to get onto U.S. Route 17. Because of this, you can find several places to stay, eat, and get fuel at this exit.
