History of Pollock
Pollock was started in 1901. It was planned because a train line, called the Soo Line, was expected to arrive. The town was named after one of its first settlers, who had the last name Pollock.
The old train station, known as the Pollock Depot, is a special building. It's made of wood and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's an important historical site.
Over time, roads in the area got better. More people started using trucks and cars for travel and moving goods. Because of this, fewer people needed the train. This led to parts of the train line being closed down.
