Port Jefferson is a small village located in Salem Township, Shelby County, Ohio, United States. In 2020, about 308 people lived there.

History of Port Jefferson

Port Jefferson started to grow when the Miami and Erie Canal reached this area. The canal was a very important waterway for moving goods and people.

The village area was officially planned out in 1836. A few years later, in 1842, Port Jefferson became an official village.
