Portland is a small city located in Ashley County, Arkansas, in the United States. In 2020, about 325 people lived there.

Portland was first settled in the 1830s. It got its name because it was an early steamboat port. This means boats used to stop there to load and unload goods. The city officially became a town in 1893.

Geography and Location

Portland covers a total area of about 2.8 square kilometers (1.07 square miles). All of this area is land.

The city is located along a main road called U.S. Route 165. It's also where this road meets State Highway 160.
