Potter is a small village located in Calumet County, in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2020, about 244 people lived there. It is known for its friendly motto: "Where Friends are Dear."

History of Potter Village
Potter was first settled near a Native American village. This village was located along the Manitowoc River. The area was originally called Muskratville. This was because many muskrats lived in the river. People used to trap them for their fur.
In 1859, a man named Captain Orin R. Potter moved to the area. He had been a captain in the American Civil War. He started a feed mill there. That same year, the village was renamed Potter Mills after him. Later, the name was shortened to just Potter.
Potter's 150th Anniversary Celebration
On July 19, 2009, the village of Potter celebrated a big milestone. It was its 150th anniversary! To mark the occasion, they held a special parade. This was only the second parade in the village's history. The first parade happened way back in 1907. Five of Captain Orin R. Potter's great-great grandchildren even came to the celebration.
