Powellville is a place in Missouri, United States, that used to be a small town. It is located in western Phelps County along what was once U.S. Highway 66. Today, this old highway is an "outer road" next to Interstate 44.

Powellville is known as a "former town" or sometimes a "ghost town" because it no longer has many people living there or businesses operating. It was built a long time ago, around the late 1920s or early 1930s.
Where is Powellville Located?
This historic spot is about 12 miles (about 19 kilometers) southwest of a city called Rolla. It sits on a high area between two natural features: Tater Hollow to the east and the Gasconade River about one mile to the west. The river is in a nearby area called Pulaski County.
Why Was Powellville Built?
Powellville was created to serve travelers and workers. It had a small motel that was built especially for the drivers of a company called Powell Brothers Truck Line. These truck drivers traveled long distances, carrying goods from southwest Missouri all the way to St. Louis. The motel gave them a place to rest during their journeys.
