Pozuelo de Alarcón is a town in the Community of Madrid, Spain. It's located just west of Madrid city. The town is surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean pine forests like the Casa de Campo. As of 2022, Pozuelo de Alarcón is known as the wealthiest town in Spain. It's also home to La Finca, a fancy neighborhood where many famous people, including football players, live.

Over the past few decades, Pozuelo has grown into a residential area. Many new homes have been built on land that used to be farms. The local government has also approved new ways to get around the town.
Getting Around Pozuelo
Important transport links include the M-40, which is a big ring road around Madrid. There's also a new light rail line called ML2. This line was built in 2007. It connects Pozuelo with the Aluche area in Madrid.
Pozuelo also has two train stations: "Pozuelo" and "El Barrial-Centro Commercial Pozuelo." These are part of the local train system called "Cercanias." You can also reach the town by car using the A6 and M503 roads.

Pozuelo de Alarcón has been led by conservative politicians for a long time. The local government, called the ayuntamiento, has been conservative since the first democratic elections in Spain. The current mayor, Susana Pérez, was elected in 2016.
Many famous people have lived in Pozuelo. These include former Real Madrid football player Cristiano Ronaldo, who lived there for nine years. Carlos Sainz, a Spanish World Rally Champion, also lived here. In 2010, Sainz was the first person to be made an honorary citizen of the town.

Pozuelo de Alarcón celebrates several local festivals. The main "Fiestas Patronales" happen in July and early September. Other celebrations include "Fiestas del Carmen," "Fiestas de San Sebastián," "Fiestas de La Virgen de Consolación," and "Fiestas de Navidad" (Christmas).

Pozuelo de Alarcón usually has cooler temperatures than Madrid. This is because it is closer to Madrid's Sierra de Guadarrama Mountains. These mountains are about 30 kilometers northwest of Pozuelo.

Pozuelo de Alarcón offers many choices for education. There are many private and charter schools. A good number of these schools are bilingual, meaning they teach in two languages. University Education
For university students, Pozuelo has a campus of the public Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). This campus, called Somosaguas Campus , has faculties for Psychology, Economics, Political Sciences, Sociology, and Social Work.
Two private universities are also located in Pozuelo. These are the Francisco de Vitoria University (UFV) and the ESIC University, which focuses on business and marketing.
Notable People from Pozuelo
The local government gives an honorary title called Hijo Adoptivo ("adopted son/daughter"). This title is for important people who are connected to the town but were not born there. Rally driver Carlos Sainz received this title in 2010.
