A Glimpse into Pratt's Past
Pratt has a bit of history, even though it's a small community. A long time ago, in 1879, a post office was opened in Pratt. This was a very important place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years, finally closing in 1955.
The community was named after an important person in its early days: William A. Pratt. He was one of the first people to settle in the area. Naming a place after an early settler was a common way to honor them back then.
