Discovering Pray Lake

Pray Lake is a natural lake, meaning it was formed by nature, not by people. It's a great place to visit if you're exploring the Two Medicine area of Glacier National Park. The lake is quite small, measuring about 700 feet (210 m) long and 500 feet (150 m) wide. Its calm waters often reflect the stunning mountains around it.

Where is Pray Lake?

You can find Pray Lake in the southeastern part of Glacier National Park. It's specifically located in Glacier County, Montana. The lake sits at an elevation of about 5,163 ft (1,574 m) above sea level. This high elevation means it's surrounded by tall peaks and beautiful forests.

Connected Waters

Pray Lake is very close to a much larger lake called Two Medicine Lake. It's only about 100 yards (91 m) northeast of Two Medicine Lake. A short stream connects the two lakes. Pray Lake is just 1 foot (0.30 m) lower in altitude than Two Medicine Lake. This connection allows water to flow between them, making them part of the same natural water system. The outflow from Pray Lake eventually joins Two Medicine Creek.
