Preetika Rao is an Indian actress and model. She also used to write for newspapers. Preetika is famous for her work in Hindi television shows and commercials.

She started her acting career in 2010 with the Tamil film Chikku Bukku. Later, she became very well-known for playing Aaliya Zain Abdullah in her first TV show, Beintehaa, from 2013 to 2014. For this role, she won many awards, including the Gold Award for Best Debut Actress.

Early Life and Education

Preetika Rao was born in Mangalore, a city in Karnataka, India. She grew up in a Konkani-speaking family.

She studied history at Sophia College in Mumbai. She also earned a diploma in Advertising and Journalism. Before becoming a full-time actress, she wrote for popular newspapers like Bangalore Mirror and Deccan Chronicle. Preetika's older sister, Amrita Rao, is also a famous actress in Bollywood.

After her first acting roles, Preetika went to the United States. She studied Broadcast Journalism at the New York Film Academy in New York.

Acting Career

Early Film Roles (2010–2012)

Preetika started her acting journey in 2010 with the Tamil film Chikku Bukku. In this movie, she played the main character, Meenal, alongside actor Arya.

In 2012, she made her debut in Telugu films. She played the role of Madhu Latha in the movie Priyudu, acting opposite Varun Sandesh.

Television Success (2013–2014)

In 2013, Preetika moved from regional films to television. She made her big TV debut with the show Beintehaa. In this popular series, she starred opposite Harshad Arora.

Preetika played the character Aaliya Ghulam Haider, who later became Aaliya Zain Abdullah. Her performance was highly praised. She won several awards, including the Gold Award for Best Debut Actress, for her role in Beintehaa.

New Ventures (2015–2018)

In 2015, Preetika tried something new and started singing. She released her first song called "Na Tum Humein Jano." The same year, she also made her debut in Kannada films. She played the character Preetika in the movie Rebel.

In 2016, she appeared as a contestant in a sports reality show called Box Cricket League.

Preetika returned to television in 2017 with the show Love Ka Hai Intezaar. She played Mohini Mathur Ranawat, acting alongside Mohit Sehgal. She also appeared in a short film called Metro Mulaqat. In 2017, she released her second song, "Yaad Kiya Dil Ne," with singer Siddharth Basrur.
