Pretty Rhythm (Japanese: プリティーリズム, Hepburn: Puritī Rizumu) is a cool Japanese manga series. It was created by Mari Asabuki. The story is based on a fun arcade game called Pretty Rhythm: Mini Skirt from 2010.
This manga was published in a monthly magazine called Ribon. It ran from August 2010 to June 2012. Another Pretty Rhythm manga, Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream, was also published at the same time in a different magazine called Ciao.

The Story of Pretty Rhythm
A brand new sport has become super popular! It's called "Prism Dance Skate." This sport mixes figure skating with dance. It uses special shoes called Prism Skates. These skates let people glide on any surface, not just ice!
The story follows a junior high school student named Rizumu Amamiya. She dreams of becoming a professional Prism Star. To do this, she joins the Prism Dance Academy. At the academy, Rizumu meets two new friends, Serena Jōnouchi and Kanon Tōdō. Together, they form a team called Asterism and compete to become the best!

Asterism Team Members
- Rizumu Amamiya (天宮 りずむ, Amamiya Rizumu)
- Rizumu is a second-year middle school student. She can be a bit clumsy sometimes. But she always stays positive and works very hard to reach her goals.
- Serena Jōnouchi (城之内 セレナ, Jōnouchi Serena)
- Serena is a very smart student at the Prism Dance Academy. She is also quite popular with her classmates.
- Kanon Tōdō (藤堂 かのん, Tōdō Kanon)
- Kanon is the younger sister of Hibiki, another famous Prism Star.

- Hibiki (ヒビキ, Hibiki)
- Hibiki is a very popular Prism Star. He is known for being serious and always thinking clearly.
- Wataru (ワタル)
- Wataru is another Prism Star. He enjoys flirting and talking to many different girls.
About the Manga Books
The Pretty Rhythm manga was written and drawn by Mari Asabuki. It's based on the Pretty Rhythm: Mini Skirt arcade game. The story was first published in Ribon magazine. It started in July 2010 and finished in May 2012.
Later, all the chapters were collected into 5 special books. These books are called bound volumes. They were published by Shueisha under their Ribon Mascot Comics brand.
