Prince Charles of Monaco was a member of the royal family of Monaco. He was also known as the Count of Carladés. His full name was Charles Marie Auguste Grimaldi. He lived from January 1, 1722, to August 24, 1749.
Early Life and Titles
Charles was born in Paris, France. His parents were Princess Louise Hippolyte of Monaco and Jacques I, Prince of Monaco. He was their fourth child and third son.
As a son of the ruler of Monaco, Charles was part of the important House of Grimaldi family. He was given the special title of "Count of Carladés". In June 1744, when he was 12 years old, he also received the title of Count of Matignon.
Personal Life and Death
Prince Charles never got married. He also did not have any children. He sadly died from a disease called smallpox. This happened in a town called Prats-de-Mollo-la-Preste in the Pyrenees mountains. He was 27 years old when he passed away.
