Promised Land is in the western part of Greenwood County. It is about 6 miles (10 km) northeast of Greenwood, which is the main town of the county.
South Carolina Highway 10 goes right through the community. This road connects Promised Land to Greenwood and also to Bradley, which is 6 miles (10 km) to the south.
