Providence is a small town located in Marengo County, Alabama, in the United States. In 2020, about 167 people lived there. This was fewer than the 223 people who lived there in 2010. Providence became an official town sometime in the 1970s.

Where is Providence?
Providence is found in the northern part of Marengo County. It is located right along U.S. Route 43, a main road.
The town is about 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Linden. Linden is the main city and seat of Marengo County. Providence is also about 13 miles (21 km) south of Demopolis. Demopolis is the biggest city in the county.
To the north of Providence, you'll find Chickasaw State Park. This park is a fun place to visit. The town covers an area of about 1.7 square miles (4.4 square kilometers), and all of it is land. A small river called Chickasaw Bogue flows just south of the town. This river then goes west and joins the Tombigbee River.
