Ptilimnium is a group of plants that belong to the Apiaceae family. This family is also known as the carrot or parsley family. These plants are often called mock bishopweed or mock bishop's weed. Scientists first described this group of plants as a genus in 1819.
Where Does Mock Bishopweed Grow?
Ptilimnium plants are endemic to the United States. This means they are found naturally only in certain parts of the U.S. You can mostly find them in the Southeast, the Lower Mississippi Valley, and the Lower Great Plains.
Types of Mock Bishopweed Plants
