Pugieu was a small village, or commune, located in the Ain department in eastern France. It was once an independent area with its own local government.
However, on January 1, 2017, Pugieu joined with another nearby commune called Chazey-Bons. This means Pugieu is now part of the larger Chazey-Bons commune.
