Quantum Tangle is a Canadian music group that won a Juno Award. They mix traditional Inuit throat singing and spoken stories with blues-style folk rock music. The group has three members: Tiffany Ayalik (vocalist), Kayley Inuksuk Mackay (drummer, vocalist, and throat singer), and G. R. Gritt (singer and guitarist).

About Quantum Tangle
Quantum Tangle started in 2014. The group is based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Tiffany Ayalik is Inuk and grew up in Yellowknife. G. R. Gritt is Ojibwe-Métis and was born in Sudbury, Ontario. Gritt has lived in Yellowknife since 2009.
Their Music Journey
Before Quantum Tangle formed, G. R. Gritt was a solo artist. Gritt was a finalist in a music contest called CBC Music's Searchlight in 2013 and 2014. Tiffany Ayalik also performs as an actress on stage.
Quantum Tangle released their first short album, called Tiny Hands, in 2017. Later in 2017, they released their first full album, Shelter as we go.... Both albums were released by the Coax label.
Awards and Recognition
Quantum Tangle won a big award called the Juno Award in 2017. They won for Indigenous Music Album of the Year for their album Tiny Hands. This was a major achievement for the group.
In May 2018, Kayley Inuksuk Mackay joined the band. She performed with them at the Indigenous Music Awards.
Making a Difference with Music
The music of Quantum Tangle talks about important issues. They sing about how to make things fair for everyone. They also aim to help groups of people who have faced challenges.
Besides making music, Quantum Tangle also visits schools. They lead workshops and performances about Indigenous topics. These events help students learn about issues in Northern Canada.
