Quintanilla de las Torres is a small town and also a hamlet. It is part of the municipality of Pomar de Valdivia. This town is located in the province of Palencia, within the autonomous community of Castile and León, in Spain.

Where is Quintanilla de las Torres?
Quintanilla de las Torres is located in a valley. It sits near the Camesa river, about 910 meters above sea level. The town is 7 kilometers from Pomar and 5 kilometers from Aguilar de Campoo.
You can reach Quintanilla de las Torres by the P-630 regional road. This road connects from the N-611. It runs parallel to the A-67 highway. The town also has a stop on the Palencia-Santander railroad line. This line was updated by Adif.
How Many People Live Here?
Quintanilla de las Torres saw a big change in its population. During the time of the industrial revolution, the town grew quickly. This was because the Palencia-Santander railroad arrived. A special branch line connected Quintanilla to Barruelo. This branch was used to transport coal from the mines. At its peak, the village had 441 inhabitants.
However, the important railroad industry later disappeared. This caused many people to leave the town. In 2013, only 81 people lived there.

A Look at History
When the old system of government, called the Ancien Régime, ended, Quintanilla de las Torres became its own town council. In a count of people from 1842, it had 7 households and 36 residents. Later, it became part of Villarén de Valdivia.
