Röyksopp is an electronic music group from Norway. They started in 1998 in Tromsø. The group has two members: Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland. They are now based in Bergen.
In 2002, Röyksopp won an award from MTV Europe. They won for their amazing music video for the song "Remind Me". So far, they have released four main albums and one smaller collection of songs called an EP.

How Röyksopp Started
Before Röyksopp, Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland were in another band. This band was called Aedena Cycle. They released a vinyl EP called Traveler's Dreams in 1994. After this, Berge and Brundtland decided to form Röyksopp.
Their very first song as Röyksopp was "So Easy". It was released by a record company called Tellé. This song later became famous because it was used in a T-mobile TV advert in the UK.
Torbjørn Brundtland was also part of another group. He was a member of a band called Those Norwegians in 1997.
Working with Other Artists
Röyksopp often works with other talented musicians. In 2013, they released a song called "Running to the Sea". They also made a cover version of "Ice Machine" by Depeche Mode. Both of these songs featured vocals from the singer Susanne Sundfør.
Their first album, Melody A.M., included two songs with a singer named Erlend Øye. These popular songs were "Poor Leno" and "Remind Me".

The name 'Röyksopp' is a Norwegian word. It means puffball fungus. A puffball fungus is a type of mushroom.
