Regional Internet Registry
A Regional Internet Registry (often called an RIR) is like a special office for internet addresses. Just like your house has a unique street address, every device connected to the internet needs a unique number called an IP address. RIRs are in charge of giving out these IP addresses and other internet numbers in different parts of the world.
What RIRs Do
RIRs make sure that everyone who needs an internet address gets one. They also keep track of who has which address. This helps the internet run smoothly and prevents confusion. Imagine if two houses had the exact same address – the mailman wouldn't know where to deliver! RIRs prevent this kind of mix-up on the internet.
How Many RIRs Are There?
There are five main RIRs around the world. Each one covers a different region:
- AFRINIC for Africa
- APNIC for Asia and the Pacific
- ARIN for North America
- LACNIC for Latin America and the Caribbean
- RIPE NCC for Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia

- Laying Eggs: They lay many brown eggs, often almost one egg every day!
- Meat: They also grow big enough to be a good source of meat.
They are known for being strong and able to live in different kinds of weather. They are also generally friendly chickens.
