About Rabbit Lake

Rabbit Lake is a pretty small lake. It measures about 1,690 meters (or 5,545 feet) long and 210 meters (or 689 feet) wide. The lake sits at an elevation of 233 meters (764 feet) above sea level.

Where is Rabbit Lake?

This lake is located within a special area called the Island Lake Forest and Barrens Conservation Reserve. This reserve helps protect the natural environment around the lake. Rabbit Lake is also found in a place called Wilson Township.

How Water Flows from Rabbit Lake

Water from Rabbit Lake doesn't just stay there! It flows out from the southwest side of the lake through a small, unnamed creek. This creek then connects to the Still River.

The Still River carries the water to Byng Inlet. From Byng Inlet, the water eventually reaches Georgian Bay. Georgian Bay is a large bay that is part of Lake Huron, one of the five Great Lakes. So, the water from Rabbit Lake travels quite a journey to reach one of the world's largest freshwater lakes!
