Radha Charan Debbarma, born on January 10, 1963, is an Indian politician. He served as the Chief Executive Member of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) from May 2015 to May 2020. He is a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He also leads the GMP, which is the tribal group of his party. Before becoming Chief Executive Member, Debbarma was an Executive Member of the TTAADC from 2005 to 2015. His term ended on May 17, 2020. Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, elections were delayed. Because of this, the TTAADC is currently under Governor's rule, which means the Governor is temporarily in charge.

Early Life and Education
Radha Charan Debbarma grew up in Mandwi, a village in the West Tripura district of Tripura. He came from a family that didn't have a lot of money. When he was a student, he was very active in student movements. He even became the General Secretary of the Tribal Student's Union. He earned his graduation degree from Maharaja Bir Bikram College.
Political Journey
Radha Charan Debbarma was interested in politics from a young age. In 1995, he ran in the TTAADC election for the first time. He was elected from the Jirania area as a member of the CPI(M) party. After winning, he became an Executive Member.
From 2000 to 2005, he served as the Leader of Opposition in the TTAADC. This happened when his party, CPI(M), lost the election to the IPFT. In 2005, he was elected again from Jirania and became an Executive Member of the TTAADC.
In the 2015 Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council election, Debbarma won with many votes (13,151). He then formed his own government in the TTAADC. He officially became the Chief Executive Member of TTAADC on May 17, 2015.
Leading the TTAADC
Becoming Chief Executive Member
Radha Charan Debbarma had already served as an Executive Member for three terms (1995–2000 and 2005–2015). In the 2015 Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council election, he won his seat by a large number of votes. He was sworn in as the Chief Executive Member on May 17, 2015.
Helping the Community
As Chief Executive Member, Debbarma worked to improve things for the local tribal communities. He focused on their language, culture, land, and economy.
One important thing he did was help pass the Jamatia Customary Law in September 2017. This law has 313 sections and 30 chapters. It helps protect the traditions and rules of the Jamatia community. Debbarma officially gave this law to the "Hoda Okra" (the leaders of the Jamatia community) on September 16, 2017. This happened at a big meeting in Khumulwng.
He also started a program called "Sikla Ham Malkhung scheme" (Youth Development Vehicle). On February 7, 2020, he gave Auto-Trucks to 45 young tribal people who didn't have jobs. This program aimed to help reduce unemployment in Tripura.
