Starting Out: Early Career

Rahman Ahmadi began his football journey as a young player. He joined Shamoushak Noshahr in 1998. By 2000, he was good enough to join the main team. He played for Shamoushak for four years.

After Shamoushak, he moved to Saipa. With Saipa, he helped the team win the league championship in 2007. This was a big achievement early in his career.

Playing for Sepahan

In the summer of 2008, Ahmadi joined Sepahan. He quickly became a regular player, meaning he played in most games during his first season. In his second year with Sepahan, his team won the Iran Pro League. Even though he only played in four games that season, he was part of the winning team.

Time at Saipa and Persepolis

In 2010, Ahmadi signed with Persepolis, a team from Tehran. He played in 16 games for them that season. However, he wasn't playing as much as he wanted.

So, in 2011, Ahmadi decided to return to Sepahan. This time, he played in 38 games and helped Sepahan win the Iran Pro League again! After that successful season, he went back to Saipa in the summer of 2012, where he played in 33 matches.

Third Time with Sepahan

In July 2013, Rahman Ahmadi joined Sepahan for the third time in his career. He played a key role in helping Sepahan finish in 4th place in the 2013–14 Iran Pro League season. He was known as one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He kept 15 "clean sheets," which means he didn't let the other team score in 15 games. Only one other goalkeeper had a better record that season.

Playing for His Country: International Career

Rahman Ahmadi first played for the Iran national team in 2008. His first big game was the final of the West Asian Football Federation Championship against Jordan. Iran, also known as Team Melli, won that competition.

In 2013, the main Iranian goalkeeper, Mehdi Rahmati, took a break from the team. This meant Ahmadi became the number one goalkeeper for Iran. The coach, Carlos Queiroz, trusted him a lot. Ahmadi was very important in helping Iran get a spot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. In one crucial game against South Korea, he made two amazing saves that helped Iran win 1–0. This win secured their place in the World Cup!

On June 1, 2014, Ahmadi was chosen to be part of Iran's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. However, he did not play in any of the games during the tournament. Another goalkeeper, Alireza Haghighi, started all the matches for Iran.
