Ram Madhav, born on August 22, 1964, is an Indian politician. He was a top leader, known as the National General Secretary, for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is also a member of the National Executive of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Mr. Madhav has written several books. One of his books is about the relationship between India and China.

Early Life and Education
Ram Madhav was born in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. This was on August 22, 1964. He first studied engineering. He earned a diploma in Electrical Engineering in Andhra Pradesh. Later, he got a post-graduate degree in Political Science. He studied at the University of Mysore in Karnataka.
Political Journey
Mr. Madhav started working with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) when he was a teenager. In 1981, he became a full-time volunteer for the RSS. He then held many important jobs within the organization.
Work as a Journalist
For over 20 years, Ram Madhav worked as a journalist. He wrote for publications supported by the RSS. He was the editor of Bharatiya Pragna, a monthly magazine in English. He also worked as an associate editor for Jagriti, a Telugu weekly newspaper. He has written more than twelve books.
Role in Think Tanks
Mr. Madhav is a member of the Board of Governors at India Foundation. This is a think tank in New Delhi. It studies important issues, challenges, and chances for Indian politics. He also guides young people at Vision India Foundation. This group helps young people become public leaders.
Joining the BJP
From 2003 to 2014, Ram Madhav was the national spokesperson for the RSS. In 2014, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was made one of its national general secretaries. During his time, he helped the BJP grow stronger in North East India. He also helped build partnerships with local political parties.
Views on Foreign Policy
Ram Madhav believes India should play a more active role in its region. This is to balance China's "One Belt One Road Initiative." He also helped the BJP join the International Democrat Union. This is a global group of political parties that are generally right-of-center.
