Rami Gershon (born August 12, 1988) is a talented Israeli footballer. He plays as a centre back or left back. Currently, he plays for Maccabi Haifa and the Israel national team.

Early Life and Background

Rami Gershon was born in Rishon LeZion, Israel. His family has a background of Greek-Jewish heritage.

Club Football Career

Rami Gershon started his football journey with Hapoel Rishon Lezion. He then moved to play for several clubs, mostly in Belgium.

Starting in Belgium

In 2009, Gershon went on trial with Standard Liège, a team in Belgium's top league. He impressed them and was loaned for one season. Standard Liège then decided to buy him in 2010. After buying him, they immediately loaned him to K.V. Kortrijk for another season.

Time with Celtic

On January 9, 2013, Rami Gershon joined Celtic, a famous Scottish club, on a loan deal. He made his first appearance for Celtic on February 9, 2013. This was in a match against Inverness CT in the Scottish Premier League. Gershon even scored a goal in that game, helping Celtic win 3–1.

Playing for K.A.A. Gent

In 2014, Gershon moved back to Belgium to play for Gent. He quickly became an important player for the team. He was a key part of the squad that won the Belgian Championship in 2015. The next year, he also played a big role in their Champions League matches.

Return to Israel

After his successful time in Belgium, Rami Gershon returned to Israel. He joined Maccabi Haifa in 2017. He has continued to be a strong defender for them.

Rami Gershon has represented his country, Israel, at different levels. He played 10 games for the Israel U21 team. Later, he played 21 games for the senior Israel national team.

He made his debut for the senior national team on October 12, 2010. This was in a Euro 2012 Qualifier match against Greece. On October 11, 2011, Gershon scored his first goal for Israel. It was in a 2–0 win against Malta during the Euro 2012 qualifiers. He scored another important goal on March 22, 2013, against Portugal. That match ended in an exciting 3–3 draw.

Personal Life

In 2014, Rami Gershon began dating Israeli model Neta Alchimister. They got engaged in 2018 and were married in June 2019. The couple welcomed their first son on November 16, 2023.
