Anderson is a small town located in Burnett County, in the state of Wisconsin in the United States. In 2010, about 398 people lived there.

History of Anderson

Anderson was named after an important person. This person was Canute Anderson, an early settler in the area. He was also a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, which is like the state's law-making group.

Geography of Anderson

Anderson is located in the southwest corner of Burnett County. Its western edge is next to the St. Croix River. On the other side of the river is Chisago County, Minnesota. To the south of Anderson is Polk County, Wisconsin.

A special area called the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway runs along the western border of the town. This area protects the beautiful river. Also, the Fish Lake State Wildlife Area covers a large part of the northeastern section of Anderson.

The total area of Anderson is about 165.7 square kilometers (about 64 square miles). Most of this area is land, which is about 162.7 square kilometers (about 62.8 square miles). The rest, about 3.1 square kilometers (about 1.2 square miles), is water.
