Raquel Filipa Tavares (born January 11, 1985) is a famous singer from Portugal. She is known for singing Fado, a style of traditional Portuguese music that is often sad and full of emotion.

Raquel Tavares became a well-known singer after winning a big Fado competition in Portugal called the "Grande Noite do Fado."
She often performed at "Bacalhau de Molho," a famous Fado house in Lisbon. Her powerful voice took her on tours all over Europe, with shows in major cities like Paris, Rome, and Madrid.
In 2006, she released her first album. That same year, she won the Amália Rodrigues Revelation Prize, an important award for new Fado singers. Her second album, Bairro, came out in 2008.
After many years of success, Raquel decided to take a break from her music career in January 2020. She wanted to live a life away from the stage. Many people consider her one of the most important Fado singers of her generation.
On Screen and on the Dance Floor
Besides singing, Raquel has shown her talents in other areas. In 2004, she had a small role as a Fado singer in the movie O Milagre Segundo Salomé ("The Miracle According to Salomé").
In 2008, she competed in the Eurovision Dance Contest 2008 with her dance partner, João Tiago. They represented Portugal and finished in 8th place.
